Niel Carey collectively document his professional endeavors as an educator and facilitator of career education at the Maryland State Board of Education and the National Council on Career Advancement, 1967-1997. Records include his service in the United States Air Force; however, the majority of materials focus on the development of career education as one of the first programs of its kind. Additionally, records document Carey’s publication activities and public service. A transcription of a 1783 letter written by Carey's ancestor is attached.
